A few years ago, I quoted on what would be my biggest website project so far.

It was for an ethical and sustainable jewellery start-up.

The founder was lovely. The brand was dreamy. They were totally my ideal client.

But the project? The most complex I’d ever taken on.

We’re talking:
😳 Physical products in multiple styles.
😬 International shipping.
😳 Subscriptions.
😬 Gift cards.
😳 A loyalty program.

If I had needed to code those features? There is NO WAY I would have taken it on.

$10k web projects without needing to know code

Truth is, if I’d needed to know code just to build a simple one-page site, I’d have been screwed.

Because my coding skills? A-MAT-EUR. (Seriously.)

But that’s the beauty of WordPress.

Building gorgeous WordPress websites without code is a cakewalk.

And adding all the fancy features is as straightforward as finding suitable plugins, following some step-by-step tutorials and setting them up. No. Code. Required.

So with a bit of research, I pulled together a web design proposal.

Over $10,000.

I sent it off. Crossed my fingers. And hoped for the best.

Less than a day later? I got the job.

Fast forward a few months…

I’d designed & built the site from scratch all by myself using no pre-built templates.

I set up all the fancy features myself and outsourced a couple of small coding tasks to one of my techy developer pals just so I could get the design just how I wanted it.

Because you’re a designer. You get it. The details matter.

And perhaps best of all?

I’d pocketed over $10K — the most I’d ever charged before for a website!

So if you’re sitting there thinking, “I could never charge that much,” or “I’d have no idea where to start,” or “I’d need to hire a developer for all of that,”

I hear you.

But it’s not true.

You can do it. Without code. Without overwhelm. Just like I did.
